Professional Holistic Treatments

At Manual Med we specialise in Holistic Manual Treatments and Therapies. Our Head Practitioner, Krzysztof Klimek has a special interest in Holistic Manual Therapy and is fully qualified and up to date with the latest practices.

Holistic therapies work on the principal that the body has a vital force or life energy. It is this force that protects the body from disease and allows it to heal. We often refer to it as the “immune system”. When the balance of the immune system is disturbed we see the various symptoms of dis-ease. Holistic therapies aim to help the patient restore the balance, thus allowing the body to heal itself naturally.

Diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems.

Non-invasive regenerative processes for the body.

Shockwave Therapy

A modern very effective form of physical therapy.

Physiotherapy is the diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal problems and/or sports injuries. Treatment incorporates all aspects of health education including acupuncture (dry needling), electrotherapy, mobilization, manipulation and exercise therapy. Acute injuries are assessed and treated to settle immediate symptoms. An individually tailored rehabilitation programme is then formulated with that person’s exercise goals in mind to bring them back to their pre-injury health. At Manual Med we take an holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is used to treat motion impairments that cause pain and decreased range of motion. Joint-specific techniques are indicated when the motion impairment is caused by loss of the normal joint motion as a result of a reversible joint hypomobility. Manual therapy is typically contraindicated when the motion impairment is caused by excessive joint mobility.

Motion impairment caused by weakened or shortened muscles is often an indication to use soft tissue techniques. Once pain has been reduced and joint mobility improved with the application of manual therapy, it is easier for a patient to regain normal movement patterns and restore maximal function.

Myofascial Therapy

Myofascial therapy (also known as Myofascial Release Therapy or Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy) is a type of safe, low load stretch that releases tightness and pain throughout the body caused by myofascial pain syndrome, which describes chronic muscle pain that is worse in certain areas known as trigger points.

Insoles: A removable shoe insert, otherwise known as a foot orthosis, insole or inner sole accomplishes many number of purposes, including daily wear comfort, height enhancement, plantar fasciitis treatment, arch support, foot and joint pain relief from arthritis, overuse, injuries, leg length discrepancy, and other causes such as orthopedic correction and athletic performance.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave BTL is a modern, very effective form of physicaltherapy. It utilizes acoustic waves with high, short-range acoustic pressure within a short time interval. This energy effectively supports treatment by stimulating metabolism, improving blood circulation and collagen synthesis. This all affects the acceleration of tissue regeneration.

At Manual Med Medical acupuncture can be used in conjunction with many of our other treatments and our highly qualified medical professionals will be able to recommend whether this is the right treatment as part of your treatment with us. Acupuncture is a proven therapy practiced throughout the modern world. Its foundation is the theory and philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), an ancient system of natural healing which was also a way of life in China and Japan dating back several thousand years.

What is Acupuncture?

Fine hair-like needles are placed in strategic points on the body and will remain in situ for approximately 25 to 30 minutes. Acupuncture is holistic in its approach and addresses the whole person, body and mind, and the problem/concern presented. Diet and lifestyle are also taken into account. This is a “root and branch” approach treating the cause and symptoms respectively.

It can be highly effective in maintaining a balanced state of wellbeing and optimum health by helping the body and mind recover its physiological balance.

What does it treat?

Acupuncture treats a broad spectrum of physical and mental conditions and is also beneficial for day-to-day wellbeing. It can be used to treat many acute and chronic conditions, such as stress, anger, anxiety, depression, fatigue, insomnia, headaches/migraines, emotional issues, women’s health, men’s health, digestive problems, painful joints, addictions and much more.

Our Team

Krzysztof Klimek

I am a master degree physiotherapist educated multi-directional – specialising in musculoskeletal therapy, craniosacral therapy and acupuncture.

My passion is the movement of the human body, and the impact of the human psyche towards the attitude of the human body. Everything in the body is interconnected and a holistic approach in therapy helps me find all the possible causes of disorders in patients. I am fascinated how our psyche impacts on the posture and patterns of our movement.

I try different therapeutic approaches in working with a patient, I can influence the habits of movement, muscle tension and responses to stress. This type of therapy lets me provide comprehensive treatments against pain and determine its cause.

I started my adventure with physiotherapy in 2003 when I graduated first professional physiotherapy school. I gained my first practical experience during voluntary work in the Charity “Daj Szanse” (eng. Give A Chance), when I was taking care of children with Celebral palsy. It gave me two years training in the Doman-Delacato method.

When I finished my first stage of education I started work as a Physiotherapist in Grudziadz in thre outpatient surgery. At the same time I started my Master degree training in Olsztyn. In 2007 I moved to the inpatient ward in the Regional Specialist Hospital as a Physiotherapist and team leader. My main responsibility was the work related with pain management in long-term treatment and in hospice. I also worked as community Physiotherapist dealing with patients who had a long hospital stay.

In 2010 I moved to Synapsa Sport in Torun as a Physiotherapist, Supervisor of Sport Manual Therapist. I worked with the well-known professional sports personalities. I was also a physician coach and player in AZS UMK Torun in the volleyball section. After a few years of work in Poland I decided to come to England. I worked at the medical practice My Medyk Medical Centre and in 2014 I moved to Manual Med which is all about physiotherapy here is where I have options to develop my skills further.

  • Complex Lymph Drainage (Torun 2007)
  • Radiology Diagnostic (Olsztyn 2008)
  • Kinesiology Taping (Warsaw 2009)
